IA Softball Clinic

oskyclinicmicheledefpos.jpgOn May 3 and 4, dughters of Musco Sports Lighting had the special opportunity to learn the basics of softball in a two-hour clinic held in Oskaloosa and Muscatine.  Clinic attendees learned offensive and defensive skills through drills and instruction offered by Michele.

"The kids were really excited.  I was impressed with their willinghness to lean and pick up ideas," said Smith.  Having an Olympian share her expertise was a huge opportunity for the girls at the clinic.  Michele's perspective, knowledge, and focus were contagious to participants and parents alike.

"Michele shared her positive attitude, enthusiam, encouragement, and the importance of dedication and strong work ethic in the sport with girs, said Musco parent Kim Andeway.

As these girls play, they learn that softball is a team sport and would be impossible to play without the work ethic of team members.  "Watching the kids' epressions on their faces will be somthing I will also remember," said Wendy Buckman whose daughter attended the clinic.

The clinics turned out to be a learning expereince far beyond the fundamentals of softball.  The girls learned how to make themselves better players and people both on and off the field.
